Is IDSE an Ofqual regulated qualification?
No. IDSE is a Level 6 equivalent programme endorsed by NOCN UK. It is intended for professional development and is not an Ofqual regulated qualification.
Do I need previous safety experience?
No prior OHS experience or qualification is required to enrol. Lessons build understanding from first principles, with plain-language explanations and practical examples.
Can I study and take the exams remotely?
Yes. Learning and both examinations are online. Each exam lasts 60 minutes; its timer starts when you begin and cannot be paused. The closing interview is conducted by telephone.
What if I do not pass an exam first time?
Your £395 registration includes five attempts per unit. Revisit the learning content before trying again; there are no additional resit charges within those five attempts.
What does the closing interview involve?
A brief professional conversation after you pass both exams confirms your understanding and the authenticity of your work. It must be completed successfully before certification.
What should I know about professional recognition?
IDSE is endorsed by NOCN UK. Recognition may vary by employer, professional body and country, so check the requirements relevant to your goals. IDSE’s former GradIOSH accreditation ran from 2017 to 2022; that accreditation period has ended.
